Merry Christmas
For Christmas we drove up to Petoskey, Michigan (which if you hold up your left hand and imagine that it's Michigan is approximately the top knuckle of the middle finger) and had a minivacation. Santa came to our house Christmas eve morning, and we left later that day. The trip took about 5 hours and the conditions were great for driving. On Christmas we went to Nubs Nob ski resort, where we watched Daddy snowboard down the mountain and then took Ava to get fitted for skis and boots and a helmet and she met with her new friend Ashleigh for a ski lesson. She was awesome and loved the chair lift. She was a little scared coming down the bunny hill but toward the end of her lesson was an expert at snowplowing and skied right to me and stopped just right. She had a blast. After that we had lunch at the lodge and Ava and I went home for a much needed nap while PJ schushed down the mountain for the rest of the afternoon. The place we stayed was awesome and the town of Petoskey was really pretty and had a great downtown. But the best part was looking out onto Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay and seeing Lake Michigan in the distance. It was a great trip! The only downer was the immense humidity and fog making the video camera unhappy so we were not able to get any of it on tape. Oh well. We missed you all especially at the holidays and hope you all had a very merry Christmas !
